From the Industrial Revolution to post-war prosperity, discover the history of a small region that made a big impact on the people, culture and industry of the world as you say "ow am ya" to the people that made this place home, from metalworkers and miners to nurses and schoolteachers - and even a pub landlord or two. Step into the 1940s, 50s and 60s and experience the hustle and bustle of our new high street. Meet new historic characters, spot vintage transport, and don't forget to listen to the Talking Clock or 'Dial-a-Disc' in our beautiful 1960s telephone box. With lots of new stories to discover, there's something for everyone. Jump on board the Dudley canal and discover a magical underground world which dates back 428 million years. Enjoy sound and light shows, historic recreations and informative commentary delivered by your knowledgeable skipper. Learn about the material which was mined here and how it shaped the Industrial Revolution and advances in canal building. Marvel at how tropical sea-beds worked their way up through the earth to deposit amazing and unique fossils in our caverns. Pop on your hard hat and mask and sit back and discover hidden worlds as you enter our tree lined basins, filled with wildlife, peace and quiet!
