Explore 300 acres of plants in one of the world's leading botanic gardens. Who’d have thought you were in London? Strolling along through the treetops at Kew Gardens, you’ll see the capital city in a whole new light (look, there it is, in the distance!). The Xstrata walkway allows you to rise above it all on a 200-metre path through the canopy, designed by the people behind the London Eye. Once you find yourself back down to earth, there are 300 acres of plants and peaceful walks to explore. So where do you start? How about the Palm House, the aquatic gardens or the Prince of Wales Conservatory – the latter a journey through ten climatic zones. Phew! Believe it or not, this place is home to one in eight of all known plant species – including the world’s tallest indoor plant (the Chilean wine palm), which you’ll find in the Temperate House. But it’s not all flowers and stuff. The kids will love exploring the giant tunnels of the badgers’ sett, and after all this lot you’ll probably be ready for lunch at the Orangery. It’s Grade I-listed you know.
